Our Story

That cold wet evening when the heard came home incomplete, the brothers knew it was going to be a long night. Masa-a-sele had not come home with the rest of the herd at dusk, and the duo feared that she had given birth and benighted out in the veld with her newborn calf.
With their threadbare coats and balaclava, trusted melamu and man’s best friend, they braved the blistering cold darkness trusting in the stars. It would prove to be a restless night for both man and beast.
At dawn Masa-a-sele’s bellow pierced the chilly morning, before she emerged out of the eerie fog, calf in tow. Everyone looked up from the glowing embers of the morning fire as the victorious brothers triumphantly ushered in the new life and new beginnings…
